hello you and a Sunday later

Hey Guys-  Sorry about not reporting on all of our great EASTER goodies, but apparently, I didn't need too.  We hardly had anything left!  THANK YOU.  What few eggs we have, are 50% off, so come grab a few for next year!  I hope you a had a great EASTER Week though.  I certainly did.  I could eat my weight in deviled eggs and we just polished off the homemade pimento cheese last night.  I also made delicious quiches with the leftover EASTER ham!  Did you wake up  for THE Wedding?  Of course, I did. I woke my eldest too.   So, Firefly is bursting at the seams with SPRING.  We have unique things coming in daily for MOM, the Grad, teachers, and later in the month, DAD!  Our wedding business is in full bloom too.  R.Wood pottery is HOT and we have the most beautiful serving pieces ever, at a great price point too ($38+).  So, just a quick "HELLO" and I look forward to seeing your bright smiling faces at THE FIREFLY. Come and see the must haves! Here are few of my current favorite things, Nan

A favorite line from South Africa.

The boys ate outside with their cousins and each had
an egg with their names on them...

One of many "Nest" arrangements I made.

I was in San Fran earlier this month, and the Farmer's Market was divine.
Actually San Fransico was WONDERFUL and beyond. What a cool city.

I saw an amazing exhibit here, Pulp Fashion.  If you are in the
area this is a must SEE.  I think it is there until the first few days of June.
I loved Kate's gown!  How totally cooled would it have been though,
if she wore a dress by this artist in the evening,  Isabelle de Borchgrave.
Her work is made entirely out of paper.

and RODIN, need I say more.  The sculpture major me
was in HEAVEN!

Did I mention the FOOD...
The WINE...
and the COMPANY!

I also went here for Spring Break Port St. JOE, Windmark

Ditto again on the food, wine,  company!
The OYSTERS were SO GOOD at Indian Pass Raw Oyster Bar!

Cool book for Mother's Day!

Clearly, I have too much to say...Have a great Sunday, Nan

Swoon

Howdy Folks-  I hope all is well in your world.  I can't complain, staying busy with life.  Perhaps, today, I will sit on my front porch and soak it all in or better yet, get my thyme, rutabagas, and collards in the ground.  I am amazed at how fast LIFE goes by.  I want to freeze my boys and keep them at 10 and 8 for a couple of years.  I would love to drag LIFE out a bit, for sure.   I just want to slow the hell down, as I feel like I haven't stopped running since October.   Anyway, because I have been spinning my wheels so much,  I have decided to combine this blog and my personal blog together for a while...I have kept "Firefly" strictly business and "Warren and Love" more personal.  Frankly, both have been a little neglected, and they are SO connected, as they are both reflections of me...  So let's just see...HUMOR me.

This is Radley making me jealous.  Just stretching and soaking up some sunshine on Ethan's bed.  I love those coverlets! Of course, the cat wants to sleep all over them.  I would too.  The coverlets are available special order ,at Firefly and takes months to get, and are worth every penny... I love that creative process and LOVE the idea of NOT being able to get something instantly.

This is my cool pantry door and that is a cool card that I just received from  Stephanie, along with my order for the store.  If I lived in Brooklyn, I would force my company on her.  She would have to be my B.F.F., whether she liked it or not.You really need to come in and see the intricate embroidery. WOW!  We have aprons to die for, artwork, and this amazing pillow.  Dinner napkins to come...Yum.  I am envisioning my Easter table already.

Yes, that little owl lives in his tree.
Yes, those are pictures hung in his house, with
all of his favorite  woodland peeps!
Yes, I have one. YES! YES!  YES!
Yes, I just had Harry met Sally in Katz's Deli
MOMENT!  Yes, I quietly freak out every time I look
at her creations.  Yes, it  just makes my HEART sing!

 Speaking of Heart BEETS...swoon.
I have been into some serious root vegetables lately.
I roasted these earlier this week and I don't have enough
time to go into it, but seriously -YUM!
The meal did involve other players-
rutabaga's, pork chops with onions
and apples, beets drizzled with lemon
and olive oil viniagrette that I had tossed
some spring greens in.  It was beautiful
and I haven't eaten very well since.
Again, that TIME time.

Now if you have some time,  check this site out.
I will be sharing it with my boys, as I would rather
them play this than the wii ,my iphone, or watching the idiot box...

Here is an image, from a book  that is coming into my store.  It will probably be another month(self-published).  Of course, I am O.K. with it.  Moral of this post- Good Things come to those who wait, SO SLOW DOWN! Remember  the SIDEWALK SALE Downtown Tomorrow.   Firefly will be doing some Spring Cleaning...

Speaking of The Ville, did you see this?  That is what I'm  talking about!  Too bad they didn't ask me! Have a good one. xo, Nan

Pillow Talk

I don't know about you guys, but this time of year for me, is about making my home a little more cozy.
I've started to tackle some home projects that got wildly abandoned before Christmas.  In fact, the boys are on break this weekend, and we are staying put.  The honey just bought a tractor, so he will be at the land, preparing it for a long overdue BURN.  I'll be at the HOMESTEAD, working on the garden beds and staining  grout- pewter gray in my son's bathroom. F.Y.I- An all-white bathroom floor might SOUND aesthetically pleasing, but with TWO boys, it is a far cry. In fact, it is disgusting. Hence the gray! We are going to see IRA GLASS on Saturday evening, so that will be fun.  Anyway, the point is, that FIREFLY is busting at the seams with new finds.  A new favorite just came in from the U.K.  These pillows will eventually find a place in my home, but I can wait for the next shipment or two.  Lucky you. These will be on the floor tomorrow morning... See you soon, Nan

P.S.- The coolest bracelets and earrings EVER just came in.  Perfect for the Ball this weekend or the Antique Show next weekend.  Perfect Bling.

RED CURRANT

This is still one of our most popular candles!  So in addition, I brought in  some new products in their signature scent- RED CURRANT.   We now have hand soap, hand lotion, and shea butter hand cream all in RED CURRANT.  I do like the sleek packaging and perfect for  in the kitchen!   Lovely.  Also, I
think the travel tin candle is the perfect little love token for a friend.

P.S.-  I am sending out an S.O.S.  Can you guess?  That is the clue for something pretty fabulous coming in.  The first person that does will get a Votivo travel tin candle!  Game over when the mystery product arrives.

NOW AT FIREFLY...

I am excited to say that my favorite body line period has arrived at Firefly.  We have several lotion lines currently in the store, but I don't personally use them.  The exception being Mistral's organic shea butter hand cream (perfect purse size).  Needless, to say, if I don't use them, it is hard for me to really recommend them, so I don't.  Every time, I am in NYC, I pop into Red Flower and buy my favorite lotion ever- French Lavender.  It smells great, it feels great, and the ingredients are GREAT.  Certified organic, free of dyes, parabens, sulfates(sls), petrochemicals, and synthetic preservatives, and packaged in P.E.T. plastic for easy recycling.  Now, scents are very personal and French Lavender might not make your heart sing.  One of these scents will - Japanese Peony, Spanish Gardenia, or Italian Blood Orange. These scents are available in lotion, body wash, and the most beautiful candles too.  This is the perfect Valentine gift.  Seal the deal with a sweet Valentine Card from R. Nichols.  Come in and start your love affair today with  perfection in a bottle!  One test and you will be sold.   Stay tuned for more great Valentine Day Gift ideas.
