New Year

Hello Firefly FANS and almost Happy New Year!  Don't you just love this time of year?  I love a fresh start, recreating, buying, and just getting inspired all over again.  2011 promises to start off with a bang too with lots to do, as we prepare for our 15th year in business.  So thank you for your love and support,  I look forward to seeing your bright, smiling faces in the store.  Best to you and those you love, Nan

Hello-  These just came in and they are my FAVORITE THING, possibly ever!  Believe me if I came home, after working retail, and made three arrangements for my mantle... Well, that is called inspired!Hand carved wood, completely food safe... There next place will be on my counter, holding various things, like salt or nuts!  For the arrangements, I put in a nifty little "frog" (a small iron container that holds flowers, also available at Firefly), and raided my neighbor's bountiful bush.  Blankets also came in and they are divine as well.

Sweetness

We have so many perfect "hostess happys".  Yes, I know that is a made up word, but you know exactly what I am talking about...  A "happy" is a wonderful little something-something that you would not necessarily buy for yourself,  (Although you should, but that is another post).   Anyway, these just came in yesterday, and let's just say YUMMY SWEETNESS!  Organic salted caramels handmade with maple,dairy, honey, sea salt, and vanilla bean.  So come in and grab a few for all the upcoming parties, including my favorite, THANKSGIVING!  This is the perfect hostess happy!  S.W.  FINALLY, a Real CHILL is in the air...

TONIGHT, stop in Firefly &  get inspired, & get COZY!  I am loving this new organic cotton sleepwear/ loungewear VieandSomn (life and sleep).  It is so well designed and simply beautiful. More on COZY, I was fluffing the store yesterday and realized that I have a candle problem.  I love candles!  I am also picky about the candles, I love!   NOTHING is more COZY than a candle.  It is the perfect hostess gift, birthday present, or just a "happy" for me gift!  We have over 25 scents throughout the store.  See I do love a CANDLE!  Yes, can you guess?  More are on the way!  I also heart a good bar of soap, preferably French.  They just make better soap.  The new holiday bars from Mistral are yummy.  They are also extremely beautiful.  Let us tie one up with some raffia, ribbon, and an acorn!  One final thought on COZY- our ongoing  everyday deal on our Scottish 100% cashmere scarfs! 1 @ $24., 2 @$40., 3@$54.  Crazy Steal Deal, that is what my "girls" call it.  Frankly, I just think everyone should have multiple scarves.  I think it is a human right.  O.K., that might be crazy...  I think, at the least, every female in the world should have multiple.  They just look so GOOD!  Alright,  I might have a scarf problem.  Yes, can you guess? Call the store TODAY and make your appointments for our Silhouette Artist, Erik Johnson.

He will be in the store Saturday, November 6th.  Starting at 10 am.  It only takes him 5 minutes, so

he can do almost anybody!  We even have some DOGS  and a CAT coming for their Silhouette. 

In return, you will get a 5 x 7 black silhouette ready for a frame for $25. Additional Silhouettes of the same person or pet $15 each.  He just stacks more black paper and cuts at the same time!  I can't wait to watch him in action!  CALL TODAY  229-226-6363!

Pumpkins!

Here are some pics from the Market yesterday.  I think everyone had fun.  The masks and pumpkins were a hit, and now BOTH are available at Firefly.  We will be selling the mask now year round.  I think every child should have ALL of them... I will be hanging them in my boy's room soon.  I think we will be moving back into our house this week.  What does that have to do with Firefly?  My well-being.  Short-term, I might be wearing running shoes all  next week  or at least in my mind.  Long-term, I can't wait to get back into my home, my nest, my hearth; Surrounded by those who I love-my family, my hood, and my friends. I love my Space. HOoRay!

He will start @ 10:00 am.  Appointments are at 5 minute intervals.  Yes, he is that good

and that FAST!  I can't wait to watch him in action.  Erik comes from a family of silhouette

artists.  His father and brother are both silhouette artist as well.  Erik cuts each silhouette free

hand by just looking at a person's profile.

Welcome my former "boss", landlord, and friend, Rebecca Wood of Athens, GA.  Rebecca has

been creating beauty in every aspect of her life;  She just happens to be known for her pottery, which we

have been selling for years.  My R.Wood dishes are still one of my very favorite things.  What she is bringing will be one of a kind pieces, including images of poke berries and cotton!  If that wasn't enough to send me over the edge, she is bringing original drawings as well.  I almost fell out on the floor when she told me that!  I have been begging for YEARS!  She is a painter first and foremost, so get ready... 

Also, for a little icing on the cake, I have rounded up my own wildlife artist...We will debut 20+ original watercolors with animals ranging from whales to giraffes, hummingbirds to trout, sea turtles to quail.   Almost all of these will be under $150, framed and matted!  See some examples below and stay tuned for more!

100% alpaca knitted caps (moose, rabbit, and elephant).  However,  I can assure you that they are 100% adorable.

More Favorite Fall Finds...

This is my favorite time of year.  However, the weather is not cooperating.  I keep thinking any day now, there will be a little snap in the air.  At FIREFLY, we are more than ready.  Here are some of my favorites, to set the mood.  Himalayan Candles just keep getting better and better.  I have carried her candles since the get go, and I am so in love with these vintage indian spice tins.  We have three great Fall scents- CAMPFIRE, CINNAMON APPLE, and VANILLA HAZELNUT.   They are yummy.  We are also carrying our  100% cashmere scarves again from Scotland and at really great prices.  Buy 1@ $24., Buy 2@ $40., Buy 3 @ $54.!  I was in Scotland, August a year ago,  and you couldn't even begin to buy cashmere at these prices.  I don't know how she does it, but I'm not complaining... stay tuned for more!
